I found Margo Chase quite inspiring. The typography she creates, alone, I find amazing. Her lines of filled with expression, which makes me feel admiration. I love how tactile her design process is. I was of the impression that most current working designers do most of their work digitally and I found it exciting to find out this is not so. Work created physically with an artists hand is personal and expressive. While I believe digital work can be so also, I believe work done by hand is more imbued with the creators essence.
Another aspect of Margo Chase's career which interested me was the pursuit of what interested her resulting in, what seems to me to be, a successful career. It seems that everywhere you look there is someone telling you what you need to do to be successful and, while their input may be useful, what they are really telling you is what has worked in their life. I found it encouraging that Margo found a way to meld her passions with work. I believe that the advice of others, especially those who are more experienced than you, should be heeded. I also believe that following your passions reveals your path in life, but doubt easily creeps in and I have to admit it felt good watching the videos about her because it made me feel more sure.
